They are consumable parts for a modeling scalpel, not a tool on their own, so the handle itself is not included in the package. A curved edge suits curved cuts, cleaning up rounded edges and trimming small protrusions, where a straight blade would meet the surface at only one point. According to the name the package contains 5 pieces. A sharp blade matters more in modeling than it seems: a blunt edge does not cut but tears, leaves white burrs on plastic and easily runs off under increased pressure.

Use

• Before buying, check that the shape of the mount matches your handle, because the product name does not tell you.
• Change the blade as soon as it starts to tear the plastic or a white edge forms after a cut.
• Cut with several shallow strokes instead of one heavy one; the cut is cleaner and the blade lasts longer.
• Work on a cutting mat, because a hard surface dulls the edge quickly.
• Keep the blade dry and clean and wipe residues of glue and paint off it.
• Put worn blades into a closed container, not loose into the bin.
