SOLUTION BOX MINI 03 - British Trains. All Weathering Products

SOLUTION BOX MINI 03 - British Trains, a complete set for painting and weathering

A package from the Solution Box range by AMMO of Mig Jimenez is an assembly of products for the whole process of painting and weathering British railroad models, from the basic colors to the final effects. According to the name it is a set meant to cover every step, not a single paint.

Use

• Work step by step: primer, basic colors, unifying varnish, decals, and only then weathering and effects.
• Divide the railroad model into assemblies, body, roof, running gear, bogies, and weather them differently; the roof carries soot, the running gear dust and grease.
• Build the weathering up in thin layers and keep comparing it with photographs of the real subject; with railroad equipment it is easy to overdo.
• The set brings together products with different chemistry, so always handle thinning and cleaning according to the particular bottle, not according to one rule.
• Let the lower coats cure thoroughly before the effects, otherwise the solvent in the weathering will attack them.

Who the set is for

For railroad modelers who want the whole process together instead of assembling products one at a time, and for more advanced modelers who will use the set as the basis of a process of their own. The British subject is a guide, not a limit, because the techniques and the products can be used on railroad models in general.

The point of a package of the Solution Box type is that the individual steps follow on from one another and the modeler does not have to work out whether the products suit each other. It does pay, though, to run the process through on a test piece of plastic or on an older model: you will see how strongly each effect bites on your paint, and you will not be trying them for the first time on a finished model.

Check the contents of the package and the number and kind of the individual products on the box. Store the products closed, work in a ventilated space and keep them out of the reach of children.
