This is a remote-controlled car, not a plastic kit. The body is in the spirit of the Japanese itasha treatment, that is, conceived as a rolling poster with a striking motif that covers the sides as well as the hood. The word drift in the designation refers to the style of driving in which the car slides its rear end into a corner and the driver leads it on the throttle.
The Japanese term designates cars covered with pictures of characters from animated series and games. It arose among fans who turned a car into a carrier for a favorite motif, and from there it spread to circuits and among collectors. It reached the modeling world above all through automobile scales and through radio-controlled cars, where colorful graphics stand out even in motion.
Controlled slides call for a smooth surface, because on a carpet or on coarse asphalt the tires bite in and the slide does not get going. A smooth floor or varnished concrete serves best. Learn to control it smoothly: sharp movements spin the car around its axis, whereas gentle leading gives that motion that drifting is about. After driving, wipe the body with a soft cloth, so that dust does not hold on the graphics.
