AK Interactive Starship Detail Wash

This is a ready-made solvent-based enamel wash from the weathering line developed for science fiction subjects: spaceships, mechs, robots and similar models. The wash brings out details by flowing into engraved lines, seams and recesses by capillary action, and so creates shadows and depth. It comes in a 35 ml bottle and is ready to use.

Use

  • It is applied with a brush to the surface, where it flows into the details and recesses on its own.
  • Once it becomes tacky, the excess is blended or wiped off with a cloth or a brush moistened in mineral spirits.
  • As an enamel product it is thinned with mineral spirits, not with water.
  • It works best on a smooth, ideally glossy base, which helps the capillary flow.

It suits builders of science fiction models, mechs and gunpla who want to bring out details quickly and convincingly.

It contains solvent: work in a ventilated area, out of the reach of children, and keep it away from open flame.
