The real subject

The abbreviation PLA in the name denotes the People's Liberation Army, that is the armed forces of the People's Republic of China. The set is listed as a group of armored fighting vehicles, not as a single machine, and the figure at the end of the name tells it from the further parts of the same line. The 1:144 scale

This is a small scale, in which an armored vehicle is only a few centimeters long. That is exactly why it suits places where the whole is to be seen: a column on a road, a grouping of equipment at a base or a scene into which vehicles in a larger scale would not fit. The detail is fine in this scale, so careful sanding and thin coats of paint pay off, so that the edges do not get clogged.

Building and painting

Separate the parts with sharp nippers a little way from the part and sand the mark left after separation down. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. With small vehicles it works well to paint the base shade before the build is finished and only then to add the shading and the shades of the individual parts; to animate the surface it is enough to bring out the panel gaps and to lighten the horizontal surfaces slightly.
