The Ukrainian brand Kelik has prepared a base for builders of Formula cars in 1:20 scale that sets a finished single-seater right on the starting grid. It is a printed acrylic sheet 3 mm thick, measuring 180 x 357 mm and weighing 210 g; the manufacturer gives all these figures directly in the product name. The starting position motif with the lines of the grid instantly evokes the tension before the red lights go out and gives a model the context a bare shelf will not offer.
Wipe the acrylic surface with a dry soft cloth so that the printing does not pick up micro-scratches; the model does not have to be fixed to the sheet, but double-sided tape under the tires helps when it is being transported. The sheet is a finished product: nothing is built, painted or glued, so it serves immediately after unwrapping.
