Tint film for the clear parts of a model of the K-4386 Typhoon-VDV armored vehicle in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The glazing from a kit tends to be utterly transparent, so a window on a finished model looks like an empty hole and the whole untreated inside shows through it. The real vehicle, meanwhile, has thick, laminated and tinted glass. Tint film evens that difference out: it darkens the clear part to a uniform shade, the vision blocks gain depth and the view inside is closed off. On a model it is one of the few changes you can tell from a meter away.
The K-4386 Typhoon-VDV is a Russian wheeled armored vehicle for the airborne troops, built on four driven wheels and derived from the Typhoon family of protected vehicles. The crew watch their surroundings through narrow windows with thick glass, so on this subject tinting the glazing tells particularly strongly. The set is prepared for 1:35 scale; which kit it is cut for is stated in the instructions enclosed with the set.
Wash the clear parts beforehand, degrease them and let them dry perfectly, as a fingerprint will tell under the film. Handle both the film and the parts with tweezers and hold them only by the edges. Trim the excess with a fresh sharp blade on a smooth base, so that the film does not ripple. Whether the film is applied dry or wetted before application is stated in the instructions enclosed with the set, so go by those. Fit the glazing into the model only once the paintwork is finished.
The tint film is what is supplied. The model, the paints, the glue and varnish are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
