A mask set for the KrAZ-255B off-road truck in 1:43 scale outlines the cab glazing, the lights and the color transitions. It is not a kit but an aid to painting.

Shaped pre-cut painting masks for a model of the KrAZ-255B heavy off-road truck in 1:43 scale. The set holds no parts of the vehicle and no kit. Its job is to produce a clean edge between the glass and the cab frame, around the headlights and at the boundary between shades when spraying.
The KrAZ-255B has a short boxy cab with a large windshield, narrow frames around the side windows and separately mounted headlights. All three are hard to mask by hand: the tape breaks in a corner, runs off on a curve and lets paint bleed under the edge. A pre-cut mask sits on the shape of the part, holds the same frame width all the way around and does away with the tedious scraping of excess paint. The set is useful as well where the cab is a different shade than the bed or the body.
Wash the clear parts in lukewarm water with dish soap, rinse them and let them dry, as grease is the most common reason for a mask to let paint under it. Press the mask down from the center toward the edges. Spray in thin coats and leave a longer pause between coats with matte military shades. Lift the mask off at a shallow angle backward while the paint is not yet fully cured. Apply washes, dust and mud only to a finished and dried finish.
