The set holds twelve small files intended for modeling work; it is sanding and filing equipment. Files of this size suit places where abrasive paper is clumsy: edges left after a part has been separated, mating surfaces, corners and narrow grooves, where material has to be removed over a small area and under control.
Lead the file on the stroke in one direction and lift it off the material on the return movement. There is no need to press; you will notice for yourself that with less force a file bites more cleanly and does not clog. Clean the teeth with a brush as you go, as a clogged file slides and starts to polish the surface rather than cut it. On plastic work in short strokes and finish the result with abrasive paper of rising fineness, so that no scratches from the teeth are left. A file cannot cut; to separate parts use a saw or a blade. For harder materials reach for a coarser piece from the set and finish with a finer one. Store the files separately so that they do not rub against each other, otherwise they will blunt each other's teeth.
A set of files in the number given in the name is supplied. A handle, abrasive paper and a storage case are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
