A small kit from the Japanese maker Bandai from the Haropla range, devoted to the spherical robot character Haro. This form carries the color designation Control Blue in its name. The build goes by the snap-fit system: the parts are molded in color, are clipped off the sprue and join by clipping together, so you do without glue and without spraying. The scale is not given in the name; the number of parts, the dimensions and the contents of the package are stated on the packaging.
Haro is a small spherical character with big eyes and with hinged side parts, thanks to which a plain sphere becomes a sitting little robot. The Haropla range covers it in several color forms, and the maker also makes a Happy Yellow variant, so they can be collected and built into pairs or groups. It is a quick and undemanding model, which makes a good first piece and a fitting complement to larger kits in a display case alike.
Clip the parts off the sprue with nippers that have one flat blade and then even the sprue nub out with a sharp knife or a very fine file. With pre-colored plastic that matters, because breaking a part off roughly leaves a white burr that is visible on a colored part. The engraved lines and panel lines are brought out by a liquid paneliner, which soaks into the engraving by capillary action and whose excess is wiped away. A matte or satin varnish in a spray can unifies the finished model and at the same time suppresses the sheen of bare plastic. Anyone who wants to go further can spray the parts with their own paint before assembly, but it is not necessary.
The parts are pre-colored and join by clipping together, so no glue is needed for the build. Paints, a paneliner and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
