1:72 Nakajima Ki-43-II Hayabusa Undercarriage Bay Masks are painting templates cut to the shape of the landing gear bays of a model of the Japanese army fighter in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set covers the space of the landing gear bays for the time the outer surface of the model is being painted. The shape of the templates follows the geometry of the bay, so they are fitted with no trimming and no folding of film into the corners. Intended for 1:72 scale.
The Nakajima Ki-43-II Hayabusa was a later production version of the Japanese army fighter. Against the first version it received a different powerplant and a revised wing, which carried over into the details of the lower part of the airframe as well. That is exactly why masks for the individual versions are separate items.
Before you reach for the airbrush, fit the template into the bay dry and look at whether it sits all the way around. That will reveal any build-up of paint from the previous steps or a leftover sprue gate remnant keeping the mask from seating. Only then seat the mask for good, press the edges down and spray in thin coats. If the mask fails to seat in one place only, seal that spot with a narrow strip of masking tape.
