Resin wheels in 1:35 scale for the Fiat 508 light car with a cross-country tread pattern, that is the variant for vehicles deployed off the roads.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on set of wheels in cast resin for models of the Fiat 508 light military car in 1:35 scale. This variant carries a cross-country tread pattern, while the sister set carries the commercial pattern.
A coarse cross-country tread with pronounced transverse blocks was given to vehicles that drove on field tracks, in sand and in mud. On a model it is therefore not merely a different definition of the rubber but also a pointer for the whole scene: muddy fenders, tracks in the ground and dust in the panel gaps all belong with wheels like these. If you are building a vehicle into a winter or a colonial diorama, a cross-country pattern makes sense of the scene. A car parked on paving in front of a headquarters building, by contrast, will be more convincing on the commercial pattern.
The Fiat 508 was an Italian light passenger car of the 1930s which in military form was used as a liaison and staff vehicle; another European country produced it under license as well, and that is where its spread among modelers comes from. These are small wheels with a narrow tire, so the mold parting line and the gate marks show on them unpleasantly well.
Wash the castings with detergent, cut the casting block off with a saw and level the mating surface on abrasive paper laid on a flat board. With small wheels it is worth gluing with gel cyanoacrylate and standing the model level while the glue sets, so that the car does not end up standing on three wheels. Bring the pattern out with a dry brush and put pigment into the grooves, or it will disappear under the paint.
