Brake disc bobbins 1:12 from Decalcas: the small parts that tie a floating disc to its carrier on motorcycles.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of the small connecting elements that tie a floating brake disc to its carrier on motorcycles. They are not decoration: under braking the disc heats up and expands, and if it were bolted down solid it would warp. A floating mounting lets it work, and that ring of small bobbins around the rim is the most noticeable thing on the disc of a sports motorcycle. In 1:12 scale they are clearly visible and a plastic kit usually only suggests them.
Drill the holes around the rim of the disc in advance and space them evenly; on a circular layout any irregularity shows at once. Seat the parts with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue and work with tweezers over a tray. Paint only once they are seated: the disc tends to be steel and the carrier anodized, so it pays to tell the two apart and to leave the bobbins themselves in a metallic shade. A dark wash around the heads will add depth.
The set is an accessory, not a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
