The Advan Racing R6 is a forged six-spoke rim whose drawing follows on from the RG-D2 type and rounds it out with a deep offset edge. The manufacturer offered it in several depths of bead seat, so the same pattern can look different every time on a car. That is exactly why it is popular with builds that are meant to come across as present-day. A deep edge means that a piece of the inside of the rim is visible from the side, and it pays to darken that before you assemble the wheel.
A combined set calls for a different procedure with each material. The resin parts are washed and cut away from the casting blocks, while the metal piece needs degreasing and is best underlaid with a filler primer, so that the paint holds on it. A decal settles only onto a smooth glossy surface and once dry is overcoated with a layer that sinks its edge in. The combination of materials is at the same time the reason the set does not belong among the very first builds.
