The chassis tends to be simplified in mass-produced kits, because it is not visible once the build is finished. As soon as you build a model with the chassis exposed, on a raised base or into a diorama with a jack, the suspension is one of the first places a viewer notices. A separately made beam has sharper shapes and finer details than the plastic part from a kit and is the basis for further alterations to the chassis.
First wash the part in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry, so that the surface is not greasy. Cut the remains of the casting system away with a saw or a cutter; do not break them off. Do the sanding wet and with protection of the airways. It is glued with super glue, as ordinary glue for plastic does not hold here. Apply a primer before painting. Chassis parts stand out when, once the base color has been sprayed on, you bring them out with a dark wash and a fine dry brush, and a discreet deposit of pigments can be added too.
It is an add-on part, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
