1:48 de Havilland Chipmunk T.20 seatbelts STEEL: photo-etched Eduard harnesses in the STEEL form for the seats of the trainer.
Responsibility details are not available.
What is on sale are the harnesses, nothing else from the build of the aircraft. STEEL is a separate form of the straps at Eduard. It is precisely the straps that belong among the elements that hold attention in a cockpit even on a small area, because plastic seats tend to be bare and in 1:48 scale they lack any texture.
The seats in the tandem cockpit of the DHC-1 trainer are clearly visible with the glazing slid back, so it is the straps that decide the impression of the whole interior. The T.20 form served in foreign military use and its model tends to be built with the canopy open, so that the detail of the cockpit stands out. It is no accident that metal straps are among the most frequently bought small accessories of all, whatever type a builder is doing.
Let the metal belts read naturally: fold them over a blunt point so that a slight curve appears, and let the loose ends hang over the edge of the shell. Bend the buckles step by step, because metal will take only a limited number of movements before it cracks. A drop of cyanoacrylate glue the size of a pinhead is enough to attach them.
The seats, the aircraft and glue are not supplied with the straps.
