It is precisely the wheels that tend to be most in view on models of cars: they have a striking shape, they are in the line of sight and a crude rendering is noticed even by a non-modeler.
The real subject. Enkei is a Japanese maker of cast wheels with a long history in motorsport, and its customers include the production lines of carmakers. The NT03 range belongs among light sporting wheels with thin, evenly spaced spokes; the NT03+M version is one of its variants and in tuning and racing practice it appears on Japanese cars, for instance on turbo sedans and hot hatches. The number in the name corresponds to the diameter of the subject in inches, that is, an 18-inch wheel.
Separate the parts carefully from the carrier frame or the supports and sand the cut surfaces flat, as on wheels every unevenness shows as a wobble once they are seated. Degrease the surface before painting and use a primer. Thin spokes stand out when sprayed with an airbrush; spray in thin layers, so that the sharp edges are not filled in. The classic finishes are silver metallic, anthracite, bronze or white; a rim with a polished edge is suggested with a thin line of chrome paint. Before gluing, check whether the diameter of the hole fits the axle pin of your kit, and if need be widen it carefully with a drill.
