Opel Manta 400 of Team Finley in 1:24 scale

A set of decals with the markings of the Opel Manta 400 in the colors of the team that, according to the name, is Finley Team. It is intended for a finished model in 1:24 scale and replaces the livery supplied in a kit.

The Manta 400 as a rally car

The Manta 400 was created at the beginning of the 1980s as a homologation special for the most powerful rally category of its day. Against the production Manta it was given a wider body, lighter panels and a four-cylinder engine with a head with sixteen valves. The driven wheels stayed at the rear, so the car called for a driver with a feel for steering on the throttle, and in the hands of an experienced crew it could be fast even against all-wheel drive. Besides the works entry it was run by a number of private teams, mainly in the British Isles, and each one gave the car a livery of its own.

Advice for the build

• Wide fender flares need the motif cut into pieces, otherwise it will wrinkle.
• Apply a flat coat at the end only once the livery is completely dry.
• Work out the order of the layers in advance; the lower areas always go first.
• Use the edge of the sill to line things up, as the body of the Manta is rounded at the top.
