Honda B16B engine parts in 1:24 scale carry one of the best-known Japanese high-revving four-cylinders over into a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The item represents a set of parts of a power unit with which the engine bay of a part-built model is rounded out. The car as such is not included. The real subject is the B16B engine, which among fans of Japanese engineering is among the most recognizable, so a faithfully built engine bay with it tends to be the subject of a whole build.
The B16B designation is carried by a 1.6-liter with two camshafts in the head and with variable timing, which Honda put into the sharp version of the Civic of the late 1990s. It became famous for its willingness to rev high and for an output that at that time was not expected of a naturally aspirated displacement. Visually it is characterized by the red valve cover with raised lettering, which on a model is the first thing everyone notices.
Paint the block, the head and the ancillaries separately and only then assemble them, otherwise it is harder to get into the corners. The valve cover deserves a saturated glossy shade; the raised lettering is drawn out by passing a dark paint carefully over the upper edge. The aluminum surfaces look better over a base in light gray. Fine-tune the pulleys and the runs last.
