The Honda K20a engine set in 1:24 scale will bring a detailed assembly of the well-known two-liter four-cylinder under the hood of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for the engine bay of a car model. The package holds no car but a power unit in its own right, with which the simplified block from a kit can be replaced, or an engine bay rounded out where a kit offers none. It comes into play outside a car too, say on a workshop stand in a garage scene.
The K20a is an aluminum inline four-cylinder with a displacement of two liters, with valve operation controlled by the i-VTEC system and with two camshafts in the head. The engine appeared in the Civic Type R, in the Integra Type R and in the Accord Euro R, and it was made famous above all by its willing run to high revs, which the competition in this class long failed to imitate. The intake run through a large body right behind the head is characteristic of it too.
Divide the work up into groups: the head and the timing cover, the block, the transmission and the ancillaries each separately. Paint the inner surfaces before the assembly is closed up. The aluminum parts can take a lighter metal with a fine flash of dark paint into the recesses, while the pulleys and the fasteners take a darker tone. Add the ignition leads and the cooling lines with wire, as under the hood of a Honda they are very much in view.
