Lotus Europa Special Detail-up Set from Hobby Design raises the detail of the Tamiya No. 24358 kit, the British mid-engined coupe, in 1:24 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
You are not buying a model of the car but a refining set that a modeler brings in when building the British two-seat coupe Lotus Europa Special from the Tamiya No. 24358 kit. The extra aims at the places that in injection-molded plastic tend to be conceived as a mere suggestion, and moves a finished piece closer to what is expected of a model in a display case or on a competition table.
The Europa was among the lightest sports cars of its day. The designers mounted the engine in the middle, behind the backs of the crew, and shaped the body into a flat wedge-like silhouette with conspicuous rear pillars, which earned the car the breadvan nickname. The Special version was given a more powerful twin-cam four-cylinder and tends to be associated with the black and gold livery. On a winding road its low weight allowed it to trouble even far more powerful opponents.
Proceed from the body toward the interior and always try the seating without glue first. Rid the mating surfaces of grease, as the joint will otherwise not hold. With fine components it proves itself to apply the glue on a piece of wire and to work with good lighting. Tune the colors only after the joints have dried.
This is an accessory for a build. The package contains neither the Tamiya No. 24358 kit nor the chemicals to finish it.
