A car kit in 1:24 scale capturing the third-generation Mazda RX-7 as rebuilt by the Japanese tuning house Veilside. It is precisely that bodywork that makes the product something other than the standard version: wide fenders, a reworked front and rear end and a different profile along the sides change the whole outline of the car. Alpha Model also makes the standard and another modified RX-7 in the same line, so you choose according to the specific body version.
The last-generation Mazda RX-7, internally the FD3S, is a compact coupe with rear-wheel drive and a twin-rotor Wankel engine boosted by a pair of sequentially arranged turbochargers. The combination of low weight, a low center of gravity and an almost balanced weight distribution made it one of the legends of the Japanese sports car scene of the 1990s and a favorite basis for body conversions.
The line this model belongs to is a collector's line and demanding to build - count on careful fitting of the parts, on the need to sand down the parting seams and on the fact that the body will carry a gloss finish that will not forgive even a small unevenness. If the set contains resin parts, which is usual with this class of kit, first wash them in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue. Use respiratory protection when sanding and sand wet. Paint over a filler primer, in layers, and let the model cure properly between painting and polishing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Check the contents of the package in advance.
