A detail set of the Mitsubishi 4G63 engine in 1:24 scale will replace the simplified block from a kit with a more faithful assembly of the power unit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set aims at the engine bay of a car model. It is not a kit of a car but a power unit in its own right for a builder who wants more under the hood than a crudely suggested block. On cars with an opening hood or in workshop scenes the engine is the thing everyone looks at first.
The 4G63 is an inline four-cylinder with a displacement of two liters, a cast-iron block and an aluminum head with two camshafts. In turbocharged form it powered all the generations of the Lancer Evolution, before that the Galant VR-4 and in North America the Eclipse as well. Its reputation rests on the stiffness of the cast-iron block, which took substantially higher boost pressure than it was originally reckoned for, and took it over the long run too.
First put the assembly together dry and only then paint it in groups, otherwise you will not reach some of the surfaces later. The block tends to be colored, the head and the timing cover in a different shade than the block, the exhaust manifold toward dark with a warm hint. Add the wiring and the hoses from wire of various thicknesses; on a two-liter the lines are very visible. Drybrushing in a light metal will bring out the edges of the ribs and the bolts.
