An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese sports coupe Mitsubishi Galant GTO in its 2000 GSR version in 1:24 scale from the manufacturer Hasegawa. The package corresponds to the late form of the car, completed with a rear spoiler. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Galant GTO went into production at the beginning of the 1970s and was among the first Japanese coupes to build openly on a sporting look: a long nose, a sloping tail and a low silhouette. The designation GSR belonged to the most powerful form, with a two-liter four-cylinder, a more sportily tuned chassis and the extras that set the car apart from the ordinary versions. The later forms received revised body details and additional aerodynamics, the rear spoiler in the name of this package among them.
With coupes of the period the result is decided by the cleanness of the glazing and the chromed surrounds. Fit the clear plastic as late as possible and glue it solely with an adhesive intended for clear parts, which will not cloud the surface; cyanoacrylate of the ordinary kind will leave a white haze on the glass. Mask the inner window frames and the trim with thin masking tape pressed down with the edge of a toothpick, so that the paint does not seep under it. Before you set the glass in, finish the body, gloss clear coat and decals included. Do not sand the chromed extras or lay varnish over them, or you will lose the surface; any fingerprints are better simply wiped off.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
