The 1:24 Nissan Cedric 4 door Hardtop (Y30), High Society Car Version captures a Japanese luxury sedan with no fixed center pillar.
Responsibility details are not available.
The model in 1:24 scale is based on the Y30 generation, launched in the first half of the 1980s. You can recognize the hardtop form by the side windows with no fixed center pillar: with the glass lowered a continuous glazed band appears, which gives the car a lightness. The High Society Car tag in the name refers to a period Japanese commercial category of prestige family cars.
The Cedric and its sister Gloria aimed at managers and company fleets. The range reached from austere versions for taxi service all the way to richly equipped grades with soft upholstery and digital instruments. The top models were powered by six-cylinder engines, among them turbocharged units, which gave the large sedan a surprisingly brisk character.
With no pillar the glazing is the dominant element, so it is worth spending time on the window frames and their straight line. The chrome details stand out better when you apply them only after the body paint has been polished. The interior deserves more careful work, because it is clearly visible through the large windows.
The set comes as unassembled parts without paint; the modeler provides the equipment needed.
