A kit of the Japanese Nissan Cedric sedan in 1:24 scale, in the four-door hardtop version and in the Brougham trim.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Nissan Cedric was a Japanese prestige sedan of the upper class, that is, a car of the kind that in Japan carried taxi passengers as well as company directors. The kit captures the four-door version that the manufacturer designates as a hardtop, in the Brougham trim level. Subjects of this kind have a long, smooth body, plenty of chrome trim and a richly appointed interior.
It is a plastic car model in 1:24 scale intended to be built and painted. The extent of the parts, the form of the interior and which parts of the car are treated separately are shown by the instructions and the illustration on the box. With cars of this class the work usually revolves around three assemblies: the body with the trim, the glazing and the interior.
With cars that have large smooth surfaces it pays to give time to preparing the body. Sand the traces of manufacture down, cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder, then wash and degrease the whole part. A primer coat will show the imperfections before paint floods them. The trim and the surrounds around the windows stand out better if you paint them separately and attach them to the model only at the end. It pays to split the interior into two colors for the upholstery and the plastics, otherwise it looks flat. Fit the glazing at the very end and glue it with a product that does not fog a clear part.
The set suits modelers who enjoy Japanese passenger cars and a build with the emphasis on the surface and the detail. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
