A plastic kit of the luxury sedan Nissan Cedric/Gloria of the Y30 generation in the top Turbo Brougham VIP version, in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi. The Cedric and Gloria pair was for decades the backbone of Nissan's premium range — technically identical cars were sold in parallel through two sales networks. The Y30 generation of the first half of the 1980s is a popular classic today and a subject for stylish VIP modifications.
The Y30 generation came onto the market in 1983 and brought the new VG series of V6 engines into Japanese production, including turbocharged versions. The Brougham VIP version stood at the top of the range: rich equipment, soft upholstery, the luxury of the day in the form of velour seats and chrome detail. The turbocharged version added a lively character to that, which made a representative sedan into a pleasantly fast car as well.
The bodies of these sedans suit dark and restrained metallic shades best, sprayed in thin coats and polished to a gloss. Handle the chrome trim and the window frames with polished foil or a chrome pen, and capture the velour interior with matte paints and light drybrushing. Mind the cleanliness of the clear parts — the large windows of a sedan easily give flaws away.
