This injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese company Hasegawa captures the Nissan Pulsar GTI-R with the internal designation RNN14 in 1:24 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, with decals and a faithfully shaped body of the small all-wheel-drive hot hatch.

The real subject

The Pulsar GTI-R was a compact homologation special of the early 1990s. Under the short body sat a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and permanent all-wheel drive, thanks to which the car competed in the world rally championship. It was nicknamed the baby Godzilla for its kinship with better-known Nissan machinery.

Building and painting tips

Glue the plastic parts with liquid cement for plastic. Treat the body with a primer and paint it with an airbrush for an even gloss. Apply the decals onto a smooth finish and bring the chassis to life with a fine wash. Take care to clean up the parting lines.
