Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa in 1:24 scale. The subject is the Nissan R91CP, a closed sports prototype that the marque raced in endurance events at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s. The model represents a striking piece of Japanese racing history and in 1:24 scale it goes well with other automotive models in the display case.
The R91CP followed on from the line of prototypes that Nissan built for endurance racing under the rules of the day for closed sports cars. Under the bodywork worked a turbocharged V8 that gave the car the power it needed on long straights, and the load-bearing part was a composite monocoque. The aerodynamics, with a prominent rear wing and enclosed rear wheel arches, are typical of this class. The best known result of the design is victory in the Daytona 24 Hours and success in the Japanese sports prototype championship.
On a prototype everything hangs on a smooth body and cleanly laid decals. After painting, spray a gloss intermediate coat, settle the decals with a decal softener and only then add the final coat to the degree of gloss you want. Finish the cockpit, the fire system and the roll cage before you close the body up. Mask the clear parts and handle them with gloves. A racing car takes restrained weathering; a light film on the underside and heat marks by the exhausts are enough.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
