An injection-molded plastic kit of the large Japanese Nissan sedan of the Y33 generation, sold under the names Cedric and Gloria at the same time, in the more sporting Gran Turismo Ultima pattern of 1995. The model is built by the Japanese maker Aoshima in 1:24. Aoshima reissues its automobile kits, so other releases of close patterns of the same car may exist. The distinguishing items are the model year and the designation of the equipment.
In the middle of the 1990s the Y33 generation followed on from a long line of prestige Nissans. Against its angular predecessors it received a more rounded body and more modern shapes, but it stayed with the layout of the engine at the front and rear-wheel drive and with VQ-series V6 engines. The Gran Turismo pattern was the more sporting branch of the range, with the Ultima grade at its top; it differed from the prestige versions in the tuning of the chassis and in a less chromed look. Cars of this type are still popular today in the Japanese tuning scene focused on large sedans.
A rounded body from the middle of the 1990s calls for a truly smooth surface, so sand the mold seams carefully and use filler primer, which reveals the flaws. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats, mix metallic shades thoroughly and spray them onto an even base. Mask the window trim and frames with tape. Prepare a gloss base under the decals, clear coat the surface once they have dried and settle the degree of gloss with the final clear coat. The interior of a large sedan comes out better in a subdued shade with gentle accenting of the detail.
