It is an accessory, not a model of a vehicle: the parts are added to a base kit and move it from a purely road form toward a vehicle adapted for off-road use. The brand has long relied on accessories for models of cars and, beside this set, has also issued the first off-road set, offered separately; the two can be combined.
An off-road conversion is a rewarding subject on models of cars, because it turns an ordinary kit into a unique piece. Accessories of this kind suit builds in the overland and expedition vehicle style especially, where it is precisely the added equipment that makes the final impression, and they work well as part of a diorama with an off-road base too. Since the set is fitted from the outside, it can be used on a model you already have finished.
Before gluing, lay the parts on the body dry and mark the exact position with a pencil, as on external accessories the symmetry is visible at first sight. For gluing use super glue (cyanoacrylate); ordinary glue for polystyrene does not hold reliably on parts of another material. If the parts are of resin, wash them in lukewarm soapy water before painting and cut the casting blocks away with a saw. Painting is more comfortable before fitting, ideally over a filler primer. An off-road build is well served by weathering: dust pigments on the lower areas, a darker wash into the seams and a fine rubbing of the edges with a dry brush in a metallic shade.
