The plastic kit Jo Hound from the Japanese brand Bandai is one of its science fiction models and renders a robot combat machine. The parts are injection-molded from plastic colored right through and snap together, so the model has its colors finished as soon as it is assembled and no glue is needed for the job.
The subject is a stylized piloted machine from Japanese science fiction, not real equipment. The design starts from a military aesthetic: divided armor panels, sturdy limbs and austere colors. It is precisely this position between a robot and a combat vehicle that makes models like this interesting even for modelers who otherwise build military vehicles and want to put weathering to use.
Separate the parts with nippers a little away from the part and then level the rest of the gate with a knife or a fine file, so that no light burr is left on the edge. Assembly is quick and requires no experience with conventional plastic kits. Anyone who wants to go further can break the model down into subassemblies, spray them with acrylic or a varnish suited to plastic and finish them with panel lines. With machines given a military treatment, a light dry brush on the edges, restrained chipping of the armor and a final matte varnish work well.
The model is assembled by snapping pre-colored parts together. Glue and paints are not needed for the build, and painting is optional.
