An add-on set of wheels and tires for car models in 1:24 scale. The rims match the OZ Racing Magnesio version with a nineteen-inch diameter on the real subject; according to the name the tires are stance, that is for a lowered car with a stretched sidewall.

What the set is for

OZ Racing is an Italian wheel maker whose rims run on road cars as well as racing cars, and the nineteen-inch size belongs to newer and heavily modified builds. Because the package holds the wheels and the tires together, there is no need to track down both separately and work out what matches in diameter. The low sidewall of the stance version changes the whole way the car sits above the ground, so the model takes on the look of a lowered build rather than a production car on big wheels.

Building and painting tips

• Seat the wheel and the tire dry; the hole for the axle stub usually needs to be opened up with a drill.
• Cut the excess material and the marks from production away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the surface down.
• Wash and degrease the rims before painting; the paint will not hold on an unwashed surface.
• Apply the metallic shade in thin coats, as a thick coat clogs the fine spoke detail.
• A lowered car also needs the wheel arches and the axle mounts reworked, otherwise the wheel will not sit into the body.
