A decal sheet in 1:24 scale: a Brumos-style livery for the racing Porsche 911 of the 991 generation, a reference to the twelve-hour race at Sebring in 2019.
Responsibility details are not available.
The livery this sheet comes from is among the best known in American motor sport. It was worn by the cars of a Florida Porsche dealer who built a racing team of his own and, with the pairing of Peter Gregg and Hurley Haywood, collected victories in the endurance classics in the 1970s. A white body with a diagonal red and blue stripe has returned ever since as a tribute on modern machines, and it is in exactly such a retro form that the sheet transfers it onto a Porsche 911 of the 991 generation.
The artwork is designed for the kit of the racing Porsche 911 in 1:24 scale from the Japanese brand Nunu, which represents a class winner from Le Mans. The shape of the parts on this kit differs from the road-going 911s, so the sheet cannot be used on an ordinary civilian model without modification.
The surface has to be glossy and perfectly smooth, otherwise matte edges will appear under the film. The stripes across the fender and the door are laid in sections and moved with water for as long as it takes for them to line up the same way on both sides of the car. On the edges of the intakes and on the diffuser a decal softener applied with a brush in two light coats helps, so that the film sucks down into the pressed detail as well. Varnish comes at the end, which floods the edges and loses them under a continuous surface.
The decals from this brand are released with water and the artwork lies on a continuous film, so every piece is cut out as needed. Trim the rest of the film around the outline as closely as possible, because on white paint a visible border would otherwise appear.
