Responsibility details are not available.
A set of decals for a model of the Porsche 917K sports prototype in 1:24 scale. It matches the car of David Piper's private stable with race number 4, in which Tony Adamowicz and Mario Casoni drove in the nine-hour race at Kyalami in 1971. It is a set of markings on its own, not a kit.
David Piper was a British driver and one of the best-known figures of the privateer field of the time: he ran sports prototype cars on his own account and took them to races all over the world. In his hands the Porsche 917K with its twelve-cylinder engine was competitive even against the works teams. Kyalami was a fast circuit at an altitude of over a thousand meters above sea level, which took power away from engines and put the emphasis on cooling.
The ground has to be smooth and glossy; matte varnish under a decal creates a silvery veil. Cut the sheet close to the motif. Dip the decal in water for a few seconds only and let it soften on the paper, as pulling it by force means tearing it. On curved surfaces a softener helps. Once dry, overcoat the model so that the edges of the film disappear under the varnish.
The decals are supplied on their own; the model and paints are not included in the package.
