A 1:72 asphalt road display board is a printed display board for a model in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit and not a part to be fitted to a model, but a board in its own right with a realistic print of a surface. You stand a model on it in a display case as well as when photographing, and the scene gains at once the setting the real subject moved in. The board is acrylic, 3 mm thick and 180 x 214 mm in size.
The print shows the surface of an asphalt road, that is the most universal base a modeler can have. Asphalt is never uniformly gray: lighter worn tracks alternate on it with darker strips under oil, small cracks and patches left by repairs. It is precisely this irregularity that makes a scene believable. Unlike thematic decks and airfield aprons, the motif is not tied to one real subject, so you can stand a military vehicle, a civilian car, a motorcycle or a figure on it and it will fit every time.
The display board suits practically anyone who builds equipment in 1:72 scale, from modelers of military vehicles through collectors of civilian cars to builders of figure scenes. Thanks to the neutral motif it can be used again and again under different models, and there is no need to buy a different set for every piece.
A practical note: wipe the printed side only with a soft dry cloth, without solvents, and store the display board flat so that it stays even. A model is not part of the delivery.
