Endurance racing makes different demands on a restraint system than a sprint. The crew changes several times during a race, so the belt has to come undone quickly and be tightened just as quickly onto a different build, and at the same time last many hours without chafing the driver. The Turin brand Sabelt has worked in this segment for a long time and its line for cars of the GT category is among the things most often seen in the pits of endurance series.
This sheet transfers the blue variant of such a harness onto the seat of a model at a reduction of 1:24. The artwork holds a complete bundle with six points and is printed in several layers, with color and with a raised texture. The difference from straps made of paper or tape lies precisely in that relief: the belt has thickness, the edges cast a shadow and the seams are legible even under a magnifier.
In the build the sheet behaves like a standard decal, only it cannot be handled roughly. Cut close to the artwork, soak for a shorter time than you are used to with thin sheets, and transfer the part onto the surface over a damp film so that it can still be adjusted. If you build the seat as a separate subassembly, it is an advantage to finish the straps before the seat goes into the interior, because in the finished shell of the car there may no longer be enough room for fingers.
The seat in an endurance car tends to come with foam inserts, which are changed according to the build of whoever is driving, and with a cutout for the tube of a drinking system. The sheet contains none of that, but during the build it is useful to know where the strap goes and where the tubes run instead, so that they do not get mixed up at a small reduction. The rest is a question of patience while the individual branches are seated.
