The Toyota bB X Version model in 1:24 scale presents a compact Japanese hatchback with a strikingly angular body.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small Japanese city car with a markedly boxy body shape, turned into a plastic kit at a ratio of 1:24. The X Version designation refers to one of the equipment levels this type was given on the home market.
The Toyota bB was created as a tall compact with the maximum of room on a small footprint. Vertical sides, flat glazing and a low window line gave it a look that quickly became a target for tuning conversions. On a number of markets outside Japan this type was sold under a different brand name, which is why modelers who do not otherwise follow the Japanese market know it too.
The flat panels of the body are both an advantage and a trap for the painter. An airbrush lays the color down evenly, but at the same time it forgives neither dust nor thin coverage. The recommended procedure is a thin coat of filler primer, two or three fine coats of color and a gloss clear coat at the end. Sharp transitions between the body and the black window frames are handled well with masking tape two millimeters wide.
The set arrives unassembled and unpainted; the modeler obtains the paints and glue needed separately.
