Hasegawa 1:24 Toyota Celica 2000 is a plastic kit of the racing form of the first-generation Celica for a Japanese race of 1973.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit by the Japanese brand Hasegawa captures the two-liter first-generation Toyota Celica in circuit form for a Japanese race of 1973.
The first-generation Celica was introduced in 1970 and was a sportily tuned coupe with a front engine and rear-wheel drive. Toyota offered it in several engine options, from 1600s up to the two-liter form that also gives this kit its name. The car was built around a long hood, a short tail and a light body, thanks to which it quickly made its mark in Japanese circuit racing of the first half of the 1970s. The racing versions received wider fenders, different wheels, a stripped interior and a roll cage.
With racing cars of the period it pays to work from the body: sand the mold seams, spray a filler primer and only then the paint in thin coats. Lay the sponsor decals on a glossy surface, settle them into the pressings with a decal softener and finally seal them with varnish, so that the carrier film is not visible. Deal with the interior in matte shades and set the roll cage apart in a different color from the body. The 1970s are characterized by chrome trim and frames, for which metallic foil suits better than a silver paint.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
