A set of painting masks, Peewit 1:72 Beech D17 Staggerwing and Beech Traveller Mk.I. Precisely cut masks for the areas of the model that are to stay unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of painting masks from the Peewit brand for a model of the American cabin biplane Beech D17, known by the nickname Staggerwing, and for its British service form listed as the Traveller Mk.I, in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit or a set of accessory parts. The masks are laid on the areas that are to stay unpainted while spraying and are taken off afterwards. On this type that carries weight: the glazed cabin is large and intricate, and in 1:72 scale taping the frames by hand is work counted in hours.
The Beechcraft Model 17 was an American cabin biplane of the 1930s and for its day an unusually fast and comfortable machine for business and private flying. It got the nickname Staggerwing from the arrangement of its wings: against usual practice the upper wing is set back, that is it has negative stagger. It also had retractable landing gear, which was not common on a biplane. During the Second World War the machines were taken into military service and in British use they appeared under the name Traveller.
For modelers building the Beech Model 17 in 1:72 scale, whether in civil or in military form. It will be appreciated above all by those taking on interwar civil aircraft, where the glazing tends to be extensive and mastering it decides the impression of the whole model.
