Masks, Peewit 1:48 Breguet XIV A2, French national insignia, for spraying the markings instead of using decals. The set covers the French version of the markings of this biplane.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masks for spraying national insignia from the Peewit brand for a model of the Breguet XIV A2 in 1:48 scale, in the variant with French markings. It is not a kit or a set of decals. With the masks the markings are sprayed on directly in paint, so no film of carrier is left on the surface, there is no risk of silvering under a decal and the insignia stays level with the surrounding area. On a fabric-covered biplane, where the texture of the surface is pronounced and a decal settles badly over the ribbing, that is a noticeable difference.
The Breguet XIV was a French two-seat biplane of the end of the First World War and one of the most widespread machines of its day. The A2 designation corresponds to the two-seat reconnaissance version, as distinct from the bomber. Its construction from light metals made it an unusually durable and long-lived type, so after the war it served for many more years and spread to a whole range of countries. That is exactly why the same aircraft appears with very different national markings, and why the manufacturer makes the masks in several versions.
For modelers building the Breguet XIV A2 in 1:48 scale in French markings who prefer sprayed insignia to a decal. It will be appreciated above all by those building aircraft of the First World War, where decals behave worst on a fabric surface.
