This is a painting aid, not an aircraft kit. The set contains shaped elastic foam plugs that you push into the wheel (landing gear) bays before you start spraying paint on the surrounding surfaces of the model. The inside of the bays then stays clean, with no paint seeping in.
The Nakajima J1N1 Gekko was a Japanese twin-engine night fighter and reconnaissance aircraft of the Second World War, given the Allied code name Irving. It was deployed mainly against night raids. A model with large engine nacelles and landing gear benefits from cleanly sprayed bays.
