About product

Ivy Foliage Yellow Maple Large from Green Stuff World

This is a scenic material for making vegetation, not a model of a particular vehicle. The package holds separate small leaves in the shape of a maple leaf in a yellow autumn tone, in the larger of the two sizes in which the line is released. The Large and Small designations distinguish the size of the individual leaf, not the contents of the package, so you can match the size to the scale you are currently building in.

What the foliage is for

The basis of a climbing plant is usually an armature of thin wire, string or natural material. The leaves are attached to it with tweezers until the branch has gained a natural density. The same procedure fills out tree canopies, bushes along a wall or plants growing through rubble. A larger leaf comes into its own at the front of a scene and on a cabinet diorama, where the detail is clearly visible, and it shows the characteristic shape of the maple leaf legibly.

Work tips

  • Work with fine-pointed tweezers and dose small drops rather than a continuous layer.
  • Refine the shade with a thin glaze or a pigment, so that the foliage matches the surrounding grass and terrain.
  • Growth made up of two or three shades reads more naturally than a uniform area.
  • Fix the finished plant with a matte varnish, so that the leaves do not catch dust and stay in place.

Who it is for

  • Modelers who build a whole diorama scene around a vehicle or figures.
  • Builders of gaming terrain and fantasy scenery.
  • Railroad modelers filling in greenery around the track and buildings.
  • Anyone who wants an autumn scene with a warm yellow coloring.

FAQ

They differ in the size of the individual leaf. Large is the bigger variant and suits the front of a scene and larger scales, while Small is finer and looks better in smaller scales or in the background.

The manufacturer does not tie it to a particular scale. You choose the size according to how large a leaf will read naturally on your scene.

A small drop of cyanoacrylate glue or thinned PVA glue applied with tweezers works well. The important thing is to dose it in drops, so that the shade of the leaf is not flooded.

Yes. A thin glaze or a dry pigment will shift the shade and help match the foliage to the surrounding vegetation. The result is then fixed with a matte varnish.
