A dipping ink from Green Stuff World in a 60 ml package, a saturated red shade. It is applied generously over the whole part and runs into the recesses by itself, so a darker place arises there without shading by hand.
Modeled fabric is a shape that stands or falls with the shadow. A cloak or a skirt has the ridges of its folds and deep grooves between them - and as long as both are equally light, the fabric looks like a flat piece of material. A dipping ink creates that difference for you: a generous dose slides down off the ridges and gathers in the grooves, where the layer is thickest and the shade most saturated. Red meanwhile stays red even in shadow, so the fabric does not go gray. A wash would have to go through every fold separately; here it is enough to flood the whole piece and wipe the excess off the ridges.
