Scale 1:16 has nowhere to hide simplification. The viewer looks at the model close up, and flat areas need a counterweight in the form of small equipment that breaks up the silhouette and gives the vehicle a sense of size. That is exactly what accessory sets of this kind do: they add an element that catches the eye on a finished model at once and at the same time give it the look of a machine in use rather than a factory molding.
First look the parts over against the light and carefully remove the supports with a sharp knife, starting from the thinnest places. Level the areas left by the supports with a fine sanding sponge or a file. Before painting, wash the parts in warm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry out thoroughly, otherwise the primer will not hold. They are bonded with super glue in minute drops, ideally onto a spot marked out beforehand. Keep the primer thin, so that the fine texture of the print is not lost.
