A set of separate rivets for 1:16 scale from Firma49. It is purely additional material for building and altering models, not a kit and not a finished model. The rivets are used anywhere a riveted joint holds the plating together on the real machine and is either missing on the model or has to be restored.
At the large 1:16 scale a rivet is a clearly visible element and its shape changes the final impression a great deal. Separate rivets suit three situations above all. First, when completing parts a kit does not contain and the modeler makes them from plastic or sheet. Second, when repairing places where the original rivets were sanded away while cleaning up seams and transitions. And third, in conversions to another version, when an area is blanked off or added to and the new area has to carry on from its surroundings with the same pattern.
Mark the spacing out first with a fine pencil or a scribed line, so that a row of rivets does not wander. Apply them one at a time, best with a dampened pin or tweezers with a fine tip, and use the least possible amount of glue. Before painting, lightly sand the area only where there are no rivets, and give the whole a thin primer, so that both the surroundings and the rivets look like one casting.
