The subject is the Nissan of the Y32 generation, sold in parallel under the Cedric and Gloria names, in the sportily tuned top Gran Turismo Ultima level with the turbocharged V30 Twincam Turbo six-cylinder, as it was in 1992.
The Cedric and the Gloria were sister cars from Nissan, practically identical mechanically and told apart only by name, badges and details, because they were sold by different Japanese sales networks. The Y32 generation of the early 1990s was built around a longitudinally mounted V6 and rear-wheel drive; the V30 Twincam Turbo designation points to the turbocharged three-liter variant with twin overhead camshafts. The Gran Turismo line was the sportily tuned alternative to the classic comfort levels.
Japanese luxury sedans of that period often ran in a two-tone finish with a darker lower section. If you take that on, always spray the lighter shade first, let it dry out properly and only then mask. Run the edge of the dividing line along an existing pressed line of the body, where the eye expects it, and use good thin tape, pressed down with a fingernail once it is on, so that paint cannot creep under it. Pull the tape off shortly after spraying at a shallow angle to the surface rather than straight up. Any step between the shades can be leveled once dry with fine polishing and evened out with clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
