The F-35B Lightning II is the version of the American single-seat fifth-generation combat aircraft adapted for a short takeoff and a vertical landing. It differs from the other versions in the lift fan behind the cockpit and the swiveling nozzle, thanks to which it can work from short runways and from decks that do not allow a conventional takeoff. The outer shapes are subordinated to a lowered radar signature, so the weapons go into internal bays and the surface is as smooth as possible.
Photo-etched parts of thin sheet metal in 1:48 scale. Photo-etching is used where injection-molded plastic cannot capture the thickness of real sheet metal or the fineness of small elements. Which parts belong where and which kit they are shaped for is determined by the enclosed manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts off the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, do not break them out, or they will bend. Level the remainder after the cut with a fine file. Make the bends in a bending tool or over a straight edge, always in one go and along the whole length of the bend at once. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a small drop, and on visible places a glue that dries clear suits. Degrease the parts before painting and coat them with a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on smooth metal.
The set is for a modeler who already has experience with photo-etching or is willing to gain it on small parts. The reward is a fineness that cannot be reached with a plastic part. The kit itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
