1:48 B-24D Liberator bomb racks is a full Eduard photo-etched set aimed at the bomb racks in the bomb bay of the American four-engined bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
This full Eduard photo-etched set aims at the bomb racks inside the bomb bay of the four-engined bomber. The metal parts take the place of injection-molded plastic where the real subject had thin sections, brackets and rods, that is exactly in the places most visible on a model through the open doors. Its code series places this set among the full sets, not among the smaller Zoom selections. The brand comes from Obrnice near Most.
The B-24D carried its load in two separate compartments under the wing center section, divided by a narrow catwalk. The doors did not swing down but rolled up along the sides of the fuselage, so they could be opened in flight without much drag. That is precisely why the inside of the bomb bay is such a rewarding place to detail on a model. Without the doors open, though, most of the work stays hidden, which is worth allowing for in advance.
Cut the pieces out on a hard surface with a sharp blade, not with cutters. Make the bends over a metal edge or in a bending tool, so that a crisp line is formed. They are bonded with super glue applied with a pin; cement for plastic does not hold here. Before painting, degrease the metal and lay down a base coat.
The set holds photo-etched parts; it takes in neither the bomber itself nor the chemicals for gluing.
