The picture book Fotokronika letounu firmy Heinkel (A Photo Chronicle of Heinkel Aircraft), part one, by V. Koos. A book from the Jakab Publishing list.
Responsibility details are not available.
The publication charts the aircraft of the German Heinkel company, one of the makers whose designs were among the best known German machines of the interwar years and of the Second World War. This is the first part, followed by a second volume which is a separate item. The author is V. Koos and the book comes out on the Jakab Publishing list.
The title suggests the character of the publication: a photo chronicle builds on period images arranged so that together they give a picture of how the machines of this marque developed. For a modeler photographs are more valuable than a line drawing, because they show a machine in service, with its real finishes, markings, wear and the equipment that a kit often simplifies. The exact extent, the picture content and the arrangement of the volume are given by the publisher.
A picture book serves best on the bench beside a model under construction. From the images you can check the shape of the canopy, the placing of inlets and outlets, the arrangement of markings and the extent of fading in the finish - that is, things you cannot tell from the kit instructions. It also helps when deciding which particular machine to build, because a chronicle shows several variants side by side.
The book will be appreciated by the modeler focused on German aviation as well as the reader who enjoys aviation history in pictures. No previous specialist grounding is needed; the book rests above all on photographs. This is a printed publication; kits, decals and other modeling goods are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
